International citizens can buy property in Denmark if they’ve lived there for 5 years or they are domicile approved. EU citizens have easier access, especially with permanent residence. Legal help is advised, and a down payment of 10–40% is usually required. Talk to your bank and the financial assessment will be done based on each individual buyer.  

 

An 'andelsbolig' is a cooperative housing type in Denmark. You buy a share in the building, not the apartment itself. You pay a monthly fee and follow rules set by the housing association. It’s often cheaper than owning a regular home but comes with more restrictions.
